Work involves extensive redecoration and making good of the existing walls, ceilings, floors and existing sanitary facilities, creating staff facilities and two new toilet cubicles. The work also extends to sympathetically upgrading the play area boundaries and ground treatment to make the areas safe for the children. The external improvement include new timber fencing around the SEND play areas with gates on access control system, new CCTV and intercom access control system to the existing pedestrian gate and new surface materials to the play areas. The proposal includes creating a new opening in a part of the building that is not original. This will create a better defined and accessible entrance for the SEND Base.
