While this application was under consideration the proposal was changed. It was no longer to be felled but was to be reduced back to previous points of reduction. The LPA Tree Officer agreed to this revised schedule of works. A much better result!

Please see 23/01762/LA. This tree was to be retained and protected during the building works. The Tree Officer who reported at the time said so - but I could not find this in the Conditions to the Consent. It seems that with the progress of the development at the house the tree can no longer be retained. If this is so then its removal becomes one where its loss is to facilitate development, and its loss should be mitigated according to the Bristol Tree Replacement Standard. We are not given the measurements of the tree. There is no arboricultural report, which there should be where trees are lost to facilitate development, so we cannot calculate how many trees should be planted on site, or nearby, to mitigate its loss. I note the Applicant has expressed a willingness to plant one tree as a replacement, but that might not be enough. Please regard this as a loss due to development and apply and condition the BTRS . with thanks
