I object to part of this Application. The application site is part way along a small side road from Mariner's Drive, serving 8 or 10 dwellings - it is difficult to be sure. Of some importance is that nearby land higher than that of the Application site is heavily developed, and so there is a large number of houses which have a view over the Application site. This is relevant when trying to assess whether or not the trees on the site are a visual amenity and for how many. The conifers in the application are of mixed quality. One is of good form and seemingly in good health. The other is not such a good specimen. The Cedar however is young and healthy, and in a more prominent position in the local scene than the conifers. It has a pleasing form. Whether it is in the right place or not is a different consideration and one for an expert. Please consider the fate of the Cedar carefully. It could be destined to become an important local tree.
