This is a significant tree in the road providing a huge visual amenity. It has been managed by crown reduction before in 1985, 1994, 1998 and 2003. Thus it has been a 21 year interval since last reduced. I think it merits a TPO. The area needs to have it retained. I scored it on TEMPO at 20, but this is best left to the professionals. Could it not be managed by a crown reduction again? It is clearly large now and one can see that the Applicant is finding it overbearing. But this is a Conservation Area and we are in a climate emergency. The car owners who park beneath it will be glad of the shade it provides as a minimum, not counting its other environmental benefits it provides.
