These trees are a significant visual amenity at this busy junction. I would guess that pollution from traffic is high here. Also shade is required more and more, and this is a very built up area.
The trees have been neglected. They are full of ivy. I would hope that dealing with the ivy and some judicious pruning would solve the problem.
Trees have to live in cities and I am sure there are ways of dealing with the highway and any walls etc without losing these major trees. It is too easy to say "fell them". I hope a way of managing these trees without felling them can be found.
