BTF response:
OBJECT
The applicant has failed to state why they want the tree removed. There is no evidence presented that it is either dead, dying or diseased. The application should be refused.
If the application is granted, then a new, suitable tree should required to be planted to replace it.
Decision:
Consultation complete. The tree forum has requested the application is refused because no reason has been provided pertaining to the trees removal and state a replacement tree is required if the application is allowed. This is a 211 conservation area notification; a reason for the works is not required for a notice of intent and a replacement tree cannot be conditioned.
A neighbour has commented in support of the trees removal.
The tree is a mediocre specimen located in the rear garden and provides a limited visual amenity between properties from Goldney Road; the tree has insufficient merit to warrant a tree preservation order. The trees removal will not adversely affect the character or appearance of this part of the conservation area.
