If the Horse Chestnut is diseased and posing a safety risk then it will have to go.
But - this is a Conservation Area and trees should not be felled just to reduce shade. Removing branches that are posing a threat to property or are overhanging the boundary of a property is very different - but for shade - no!
Please do not permit the felling of the G1 Maples and Elder.
