BTF response: SUPPORT

I write on behalf of the Bristol Tree Forum. Whilst respecting the expertise of the BCC AO we would support the loss of this tree. It is too large a tree for this space. For the mantra "Right Tree Right Place" this one fails the test. It has been pollarded approx. every 7 years. That is not cheap so the owner has tried to keep it.

We support the plan to replace it with another tree. This is a very built environment and a tree is needed - but the right tree. Maybe the AO can help?

If not removed, the tree will damage the system of retaining walls holding the gardens of4, 5, 6, 7, and ultimately the Three Kings' Court (formerly Foster's Almshouses) up - therefore, itsremoval is necessary. As owner of Flat 15, and a Director of the managing company of the Three Kings' Court complex, Iwholeheartedly support this application.

The application to fell the oversize sycamore and replace is sensible.Left unattended the tree will damage historic retaining walls and threaten the grade II listed formersugar refinery (Kinneir Dufort).A replacement tree of suitable size and species can be secured by condition.I therefore offer my full support.
