BTF response: OBJECT

Trees need management to maintain their health and enable us to live with them in crowded urban environments - but if a tree is healthy and not causing damage then we need every tree we have got in our planet's emergency.

A Tree Preservation Order is just that - to preserve the tree. These trees are described as mature, not dying. They are not diseased. They are not causing damage to property. They may be suppressing other growth of shrubs/plants etc, but we cannot plant up every square inch of soil. It is our responsibility to look after and keep trees. Any replacements for them could take 30 - 50 years to replace the environmental benefit of these trees as they currently exist.

These trees have their TPO and that should be respected. Please do not permit the felling of the Poplars.
